The Envalira peaks

The Envalira peaks, is a crest of four peaks that form the border between France and Andorra. Its north face seen from Grandvalira seems vertical and steep, while the southern slope of the Campcardós valley is of gentle slopes and with vegetation.

The Envalira Peak (2,827 meters), is the highest, and surpasses in a few meters its neighbor, the “Pic Negre d’Envalira” (2,816 meters). The “Pic Blanc d’Envalira” (2,723 meters) and the “Pic Sud” are the other 3 peaks of the ridge.

The itinerary for this excursion begins in the town of Pas de la Casa, located at 2,100 meters of altitude.

From our apartments in Frontera Blanca, you have an unbeatable location for this excursion.

At the exit of our property, you turn left and begin the ascent to the lake of “Abelletes”, it will take just over 30 minutes to reach this beautiful lake, where there are facilities prepared for barbecue.

Once there, they have clearly indicated the way to carry out this ascent.

You must take the marked path that will take you to “Coll dels isards” and from there to “Pic negre d’Envalira”.

The way back is done by the same way out.

This route allows us to observe the important contrasts between the steep and rocky northern slopes and the soft and grassy southern slopes of this area of the Pyrenean mountain range. We also enjoy impressive views over the glacial cirques and the numerous peaks around it. The Envalira peaks area is located SE of Andorra, on the border with France and Cerdanya.
